POLYURETHANE COATED FIBER ROPES FOR MOORING SYSTEMS
The chemical and mechanical properties of double braided synthetic fiber ropes are presented with particular attention given to elastic behaviour. The methods of manufacture are discussed and guidelines for applications are given. The use of polyurethane to extend rope life is also discussed. Materials analyzed are nylon (wet and dry), polyester and polypropylene.
