EXPERIENCES AND NEED OF EVALUATION METHODS IN PRACTICAL COMMUNITY PLANNING

ERFARENFHETER OCH BEHOV AV UTVAERDERINGSMETODER I PRAKTISK SAMHAELLS- PLANERING

A list of experiences from use of evaluation methods in six case studies is presented in this report. All case studies concern traffic projects. That means planning problems which touch upon the design of a traffic system. The need of evaluation methods is conditioned by wishes of better decisions, facilitating of decisions, documentation of decision data, systematic method of working and communication aids. Opinions on the case studies have been collected by interviewing politicians as well as planners. A literature study has been directed towards finding materials dealing with experiences of application of evaluation methods in usual planning. (TRRL)
