The noise emission values given in the "General Operation Regulations for Protection Against Construction Noise" are listed in tabular form for some items of plant, set out for engine values for stationary running, driving past, working cycle or idling, nominal load capacity, etc. Attention is drawn to the special features of noise protection problems when purchasing used machinery. Construction contractors are recommended to check the noise emission values with their own plant in the plant yard and also on each site. When purchasing new construction plant the checker's plate from the specialist committee for civil engineering construction guarantees that the emission values will be maintained. (TRRL)
