ANALYSIS OF THE COLOGNE DRIVER BEHAVIOUR TEST (KFVT). EMPIRICAL STUDIES OF THE ITEM SUBTEST ASSIGNMENT AND OF VALIDITY

ANALYSE DES KOELNER FAHRVERHALTENS-TESTS (K-F-V-T). EMPIRISCHE UNTERSUCHUNGEN DER ITEM-SUBTET-ZUORDNUNG UND ZUR VALIDITAET

The focal point of the work is an empirical analysis of the task subtest assignment of the KFVT. Since a reassignment of the 169 driver behaviour tasks by means of factor analysis was not very satisfactory, another method was developed which starts from the psychologically founded original test assignment and is based on the selectivity coefficients of the individual tasks. In the description of this subtest the situational context of the tasks was considered more than hitherto. A study of the validity of the KFVT, which was intended to supplement tests made in earlier work, did not provide satisfactory results, despite a differentiated use of the external criterion (individual accident/offence frequency). This could basically be attributed to the very low reliability of the external criterion and the highly selected study subjects. (TRRL)
