Autonomous Vehicle Heaven or Hell? Creating a Transportation Revolution that Benefits All
This report looks at autonomous vehicles and equity issues. The authors interviewed stakeholders, conducted surveys, and used information from a literature review to examine the impacts of electric, shared, and autonomous vehicles. Policy recommendations are made which avoid personally-owned autonomous vehicles and instead focus on fleets of shared electric autonomous vehicles that provide mobility for all people, including marginalized people, while also decreasing congestion, improving accessibility, and reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
