This volume contains chapters on the testing, compaction, curing, pumping, surface finishing, handling, mixing, transporting and placing of concrete and concrete materials. It describes the procedurs for testing cement quality, workability of a sample of freshly mixed concrete, and the water content of hardened concrete. Non-destructive test methods (surface hardness methods, sonic and the ultrasonic vibration methods, and radioactive methods) are also described. The volume concludes with a description of the processes of grouting and shotcreting.
