NATIONAL ROAD MAINTENANCE CONDITION SURVEY. REPORT OF THE 1979 SURVEY

As in earlier years the survey covered all road classes in England and Wales with the exception of motorways. Details are given of the sample size, timing, results, confidence intervals, national averages, and condition deficiency index. Charts show national averages of main defects by road class, tables show national averages of main defects (wheeltrack cracking-length, wheeltrack rutting-depth, edge deterioration), bar charts show relationship between individual county results and national averages, and a table for each county presents its individual results and the national average.
