TRANSPORTATION ENERGY USE IN THE UNITED STATES: A STATISTICAL HISTORY 1955-1971 (1973)
Another report in the rand research program on the growing demand for energy, this study summarizes United States transportation energy consumption data which had not previously been available in a single source. The author states that careful estimates of these data are included in this work, which he feels should be of interest to researchers, students, legislatures, policymakers, and other involved in energy and transportation activities. The study includes total water, railroads and military transportation. An appendix deals with conversion factors.
