FORECASTING MARINE TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS FOR IMPORTS TO MIDDLE EASTERN OIL-EXPORTING COUNTRIES: 1976-1985

Volume II contains the final report of the study that projects various oil importing requirements for middle eastern and north African oil-exporting countries through 1985. Data contained in this volume and in the appendix and supplement include: an aggregate capacity rating of commercial ports by country, 1980 and 1985; projected port status of OPEC countries in the middle east and north Africa, 1980 and 1985; projected traffic by transport system for OPEC trade, 1980 and 1985; trade volume of middle eastern and north African OPEC members; aggregate import volume and U.S. share for middle eastern and north African OPEC countries by major commodity groups; likely completion schedules for planned commercial port facilities by country; projected volume of imports and nonfuel exports by country; projected imports from the U.S. for 1980 and 1985 by country; statistics for ports performance and cargo handling for each country; throughput and transit at major OPEC country ports; distance comparisons for Suez vs. other routes; suez traffic statistics; projected nonfuel exports by maritime transport for each country; and projections of exports for non-OPEC countries in the middle east and north Africa. Numerous maps of the middle east, north Africa, and OPEC trade routes are also presented.
