NEW YORK STATE--STATEWIDE PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, 1975

Survey purpose--statewide public opinion survey on public transportation: reaction to current transit services and to probable improvements. Survey information--demographic information on the household and individual, attitudes toward quality and priority of transportation services, trip information on travel habits and the trade-off analysis section on financial assistance schemes. Sample selection--multi-stage sampling plan for households with quota sampling of respondents within a residence. New York state was broken down into four population levels: urban places with over a million residents, 50,000 to 999,999, and up to 50,000, and non-urban areas. 250 households were selected from each level using cluster techniques. 1,000 respondents. Data collection proc--in-house interview-a person from the household was chosen on the basis of a quota system. A trade-off analysis format was used in part of the questionnaire.
