EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS OF THE FATAL ACCIDENT FILES, 1975
For the past several years the National Highway Traffic Safety Association has operated the Fatal Accident File (FAF), an automated data base of information related to fatal motor vehicle accidents. This study has been undertaken to evaluate the general usefulness of the FAF, as well as to use this data to investigate areas of interest. Specific areas investigated were the effects of driver training, characteristics of fatal truck accidents, and determination of target drivers for speed-oriented countermeasures. (TSC)
