TICKET ORIGIN & DESTINATION (DATA BASE #1), 1972-75

A ten percent sample of all passengers itineraries as represented by tickets collected by certificated carriers in scheduled passenger service for the quarter of the file date. Up to 25 points can be shown for each routing. The total number of passengers in the sample who flew an identical itinerary is contained in each record. The items of data shown on the flight coupons are 1) all cities in the sequence of the complete one way, round, open-jaw, or circle trip itinerary from initial origin to ultimate destinaton, including points of intraline and interline transfer and stopover; 2) carrier on each flight coupon stage; 3) fare basis; 4) number of passenger. Statistics voluntarily submitted by U.S. airlines and are combined into a series of data banks known as Passenger Origin and Destination Surveys.

    • ADP Storage: 78 tapes, 9 track, 800 or 1600 bpi, EBCDIC. International statistics are restricted. Domestic stats are available thru ATA.
