STANDARD POINT LOCATION CODE FILE (SPLC)

These tapes are designed to identify the places and facilities from which, through which and to which freight is transported. A numeric code expresses geographical and political relationships. The two files, one developed by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association and the other by the Association of American Railroads, have been united and given uniform codes.
