The report presents the results from a program developed by NSFI and Aukra Bruk A/S, supported by NTNF. The aim has been to improve the economical control within the yard. The project ended with a common coding system for both ship building and repair, adapted and implemented in the various departments of the yard. Guidelines for application of the system are presented. Estimation and cost control on new-buildings and repair projects are examined, and special problems are dealt with in detail. The routines for materials administration and materials cost control are presented. Other company functions are also mentioned, as the report is intended for training purposes in the yard. Scheduling and capacity planning are thoroughly described. Together with a new time registration system -- REGTID -- this has reduced the amount of paper work in the production departments. This is a computer based system that keeps track of all information necessary.
