Big Events in the Big Apple: Marine Events in Sector New York

The Port of New York and New Jersey hosts myriad marine events requiring Coast Guard coordination with industry and other government agencies to ensure the safety of participants and spectators. Fleet Week New York necessitates a Coast Guard Advisory Notice and Safety Broadcast Notice to Mariners, alerting the public that Naval Vessel Protection Zones and other security zones will be in place during the Parade of Ships and that boaters may face impacts to navigation in the channel. Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Display also calls for advance planning among many organizations.
