CITY OF TALLAHASSEE ENERGY CONSERVATION MANUAL
The prime targets of the Tallahasse Energy Conservation Program are city owned and leased buildings--energy for heating, ventilating, cooling, and lighting--city, vehicle fleet management, and the local citizenry. The following goals and objectives of the program have been formulated for these tree targets: reduce energy consumption of buildings by 20%, reduce vehicle fuel consmption by at least 10%, design and construct buildings which have energy conservation features designed into their structure, develop an educational program which will encourage the citizenry to become more energy conscious, and provide for a continuing search of alternatives in the area of energy conservation in order to become more energy efficient and keep the city organization responsive to current state and federal policy. This report includes energy efficient recommendations for city administration, city buildings, city motor vehicle fleet management, and public awareness. Also included is analysis of three suggested actions of energy conservation-- four-day work week, energy audit, and carpooling.
