Importance of cycle's amplitude on the definition unload-reload pressuremeter modulus

In underground structures or foundations projects, knowledge of unload-reload modulus is important to understand the dynamic or small strain behavior of soils whatsoever for deformation analysis using the finite element method or analytical methods. An experimental study was performed with automated equipment controlled by microcomputer. It consists in comparing NF P94 110-2 protocols and those used in the SOLCYP (SOLlicitations CYcliques sur les Pieux) project to determine the influence of the amplitude of the cycles on modulus values, the unload pressure of the cycle and the type of loading: stepwise or continuous. The tests were carried out in a silt layer located in Jossigny experimental site.
