METHODES DE CALCUL NUMERIQUE EN ELASTICITE

The author describes the various techniques of numerical calculation used in elasticity, compares them to each other and indicates the basic concepts linking them. The first two chapters recall the elastic theory. Chapter 4 outlines the concept of interpolation functions and the lagrange and Hermite formulae, which are the basis of all processes of resolution by discretization. Chapters 3, 5, 6 and 7 examine in detail the Ritz method, the finite difference and finite element methods, and the theory of equivalence. Chapter 8 presents a comparative study of these different techniques. (TRRL)
