MOTORCYCLIST IN-TRAFFIC TEST. PILOT STUDY AND IMPLEMENTATION
From a review of the available data and from gathering subjective conclusions from both the examiners and the applicants, the M.I.T. is a better test than the current Oklahoma In-Traffic Skill Test. The M.I.T. is a more uniform and objective measure of applicant skill and compentence. The M.I.T. is a good measure of skill performance needed to operate in the traffic mix as viewed by a panel of experts. Although the M.I.T. takes three to four times longer to administer than the current Oklahoma motorcycle test, it takes approximately the same time as the automobile in traffic test. The M.I.T. provides a univorm and objective scoring procedure which results in a failure rate similar to that of all other vehicle skill tests administered in the state. The recommended failure score is successful completion of 75 percent of measurable scoring items. (E)
