Closed Cavity Thin-Wall Components Design for Prefabricated Underground Subway Structures

Mechanical behavior of single-arch long span assembled subway stations was studied though theatrical and numerical analyses in this paper. Closed cavity thin-wall components were used instead of traditional structure components after a series of optimizing analyses. Stress distribution of structure components in the normal service stage was presented. The results showed that the application of closed cavity thin-wall components could effectively reduce the consumption of concrete and steel materials and make the component lighter. The minimum thickness of flange and ribbed floor was specified as 200 mm combining consideration on the structure requirements and waterproofing requirements.
