MOTORISTS NEEDS FOR SERVICES INFORMATION ON INTERSTATE AND FEDERAL-AID PRIMARY HIGHWAYS. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The volume is an Executive Summary which contains the results of a comprehensive State-of-the-Art review on the topic of motorists needs for information on travel related goods and services. Based on the results of this review, a conceptual prototype information system designed to satisfy these information needs through the use of existing information transmission techniques was developed. This prototype system was used as a yardstick in the evaluation of existing goods and services information systems. Problems in information needs satisfaction are identified, the implementation of an information system is recommended and additional research needs are identified.
