AIR BUBBLER SYSTEM DESIGN FOR THE 140 FOOT WYTM
The 140' class of Coast Guard Cutters are equipped with an air bubbler hull lubrication system for ice breaking. The air bubbler system reduces ice friction against the cutter's hull plating. This report describes the air bubbler system on this class cutter, gives its operating characteristics, and its design history. (Author)
