KOMBINERT TRANSPORT

This theme report discusses briefly the development of combined transport in Norway and the expected future for this mode of transport. Some technical aspects of interchangeables are discussed, and also some problems with the administration and use of this type of freight carriers.(a) (TRRL) having been completed in July 1976, the urgency for improving the remaining 12 km of the rn 506 has become increasingly imperative. After reviewing traffic trends, the author justifies the type of development proposed, describes the main alignment alternatives studied and summarises costs and programming of the works. The first structure to be completed will consist essentially of A viaduct about 1500 M long, supported by 65 M high piers, cast in-situ in 50 M lengths using the balancing cantilever process.
