FIELD MEASUREMENT OF SCOUR DEPTH
The paper gives a description of a method of measurement of maximum scour depth at bridge piers in the field. The method rests on the determination of the elevation of a metal collar which would have sunk to the bottom of the scour hole during the flood and has become buried under sediment as the flood receded.
