THE RAUDRIL SYSTEM OF PVC DRAIN PIPES AND THEIR USE IN CIVIL ENGINEERING

DRENAZNE CEVI IZ PVC PO SISTEMU RAUDEIL - I NJIHOVA UPOTREBA U GRADJEVINARSTVU

The author describes the problem of drainage and the use of a new material for providing greater stability of structures in connection with the action and influence of water. The importance of the drainage system in civil engineering is stressed and its historical development is described. The development of plastic pipes made of hard polyvinylchloride according to the system "raudril" has contributed to the efficiency and functionality of the complete drainage system and the long life of road structures. Types and characteristics of these plastic pipes are given, not only as regard their functionality and durability, but also their resistance to vertical pressure, capability of draining, easy installation, transportability and resistance to damage by rodents.
