DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW 75 TONNE HIGH CAPACITY RAIL CRANES
British Rail is taking delivery of six high capacity rail cranes. They are the first cranes of this capacity to be purchased for eighteen years and represent significant advances over previous designs. This paper gives background information on the choosing of specification requirements and the design concept and gives details of the design development for the "as made" crane.
