TRANSPORTATION OF ENERGY MATERIALS. MEETING OBJECTIVES

This conference on the transportation of energy materials grew out of a concern for the new issues arising in the transport of energy materials caused by the need for new sources of fuel and the escalating prices in energy. Availability also necessitated an intensive discussion of the movement of these materials, now and in the future, to gain from further insights, to stimulate needed research, and in general to obtain a better perspective of the issues to be confronted. The meeting is intended to examine transport of energy materials by all existing surface modes and new technologies which may provide the basis for additional modes in the future. (Author)
