Increases in the price of oil products and the necessity of maintaining pavements as cheaply as possible have given A renewed interest to surface dressings. The authors outline the progress in the equipment, in particular spreading machines, gritters, sweepers and compaction machines. An appendix gives details of current costs of modern equipment used for surface dressing operations. (TRRL)
