THE BRAKING POTENTIAL OF HEAVY MOTORCYCLES
DAS BREMSVERMOEGEN SCHWERER MOTORRAEDER
Motorcycles need to be braked differently from passenger cars because of the problem of balance, especially on bends. Through independent operation of the rear and front wheel brake it is possible for the practised motorcyclist to achieve greater braking than a car. The unskilled cyclist does not always achieve this, and is at risk through premature locking of one of the wheels. Weight and loading also play a part. (TRRL)
