THEORETICAL SEAKEEPING, A STATE OF THE ART SURVEY

The paper discusses different theories to predict linear forced-motion forces due to rigid body motions and elastic vibrations. Numerical results for heave and pitch by the "Ogilvie-Tuck" method and the "Salvesen-Tuck-Faltinsen" method are compared. In the linear wave excitation problem the head sea case of small wave lengths is discussed. Roll damping and non-linear large amplitude motions are studied. Order from NSFI as No. 19520.
