DATA RADIO AND ELECTRONICS IN RAIL TRAFFIC CONTROL: THE LOCATION IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM

The Location Identification and Control (LIC) System applies modern electronics technology to the job of railway traffic control. It offers performance and cost advantages over traditional techniques which rely heavily on electro-mechanical components. Operational feasibility of the system has been established and an implementation program is underway at the British Columbia Railway.
