SURVEILLANCE OF DRIVERS WITH IMPAIRED HEARING
BEWAEHRUNGSKONTROLLEN GEHOERGESCHAEDIGTER KRAFTFAHRER
Surveillance of drivers with impaired hearing in 1972 showed that there was greater participation of these people in road traffic, and not only on quiet rural roads. Their participation on the roads has not resulted so far in an increased risk for other road users; on the contrary people with impaired hearing tend to be disciplined drivers. If careful selection is applied it should be possible for them to become professional drivers. (TRRL)
