SEAT BELT SYNDROME IN REAL ACCIDENT AND EXPERIMENT
SEAT-BELT-SYNDROM IM REALUNFALL UND EXPERIMENT
Medical findings following a fatal belt injury are discussed in relation to the results known from the literature after impact tests with cadavers. The patterns of injury to the thorax were identical to the results of the crash tests, which had been obtained using anthropometric dummies and cadavers. However, real accidents have to be studied to carry out research into injuries of the heart and blood vessels caused by belts. (TRRL)
