SUPPLYING COAL TO POWER STATIONS IN BLOCK TRAINS

VERSORGUNG DER KRAFTWERKE MIT KOHLE IN GESCHLOSSENEN ZUEGEN

The regular supply of coal to the Federal Republic's power stations is essential for the smooth running of the German energy economy. Specially adapted unloading equipment is necessary for the transport of coal to power stations in unit trains, and self-discharging cars of the FAD type are the most frequently used for this purpose. There is a description of the planning criteria for the optimum use of cars, and of the importance of forwarding schedules in running unit trains to power stations.
