MEASURING SIGNAL, BRIDGE, ROOFING SITING ON THE DSB BY PHOTOGRAPHIC SURVEY

Description of a method of measuring the clearance gauge devised by the Danish State Railways. This method used in connection with the transport of out-of-gauge loads can also serve for siting structures and checking and the position of overhead contact lines. The article explains the basic principles of the system, how it was designed, the construction and fitting out of the survey vehicle, the photographic recordings, their processing and interpretation, and the correction of any errors in positioning.
