DISAGGREGATED BEHAVIOUR-ORIENTATED TRAFFIC MODELS - THEORY AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION

DISAGGREIERTE VERHALTENSORIENTIERTE VERKEHRSMODELLE -THEORIE UND PRAKTISCHE ANWENDUNG

Disaggregated behaviour-orientated traffic models should be used more than hitherto in traffic forecasting. These are models which explain traffic demand and modal split from individual choices, explicit behavioural hypotheses and consideration of the multidimensional nature of traffic demand decisions using efficient statistical methods of estimation. A basic model and a model specification are presented. Examples of use in the forecasting of choice of transport mode by commuters and in the analysis of traffic demand, with decisions on urban development, mobility and behaviour indicate the practicability of disaggregated procedures.
