AN URBAN WORKING STUDY - AN EXAMPLE FROM MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

This paper describes an urban corridor study carried out in Melbourne, Australia. The object of the study was to examine present and likely future transport, drainage and recreation problems in the corridor, and to recommend a course of action to overcome these problems. The study considered a wide range of engineering, economic, sociological and environmental factors, involved a number of authorities all with interests in the corridor, and included an extensive community participation programme.
