ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT OF THE THREE-PHASE LOCOMOTIVE TYPE 120 OF THE WEST GERMAN RAILROAD SYSTEM
DIE ELEKTRISCHE AUSRUESTUNG DER DREHSTROMLOKOMOTIVE BAUREIHE 120 DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESBAHN
The tight weight and space restrictions for the electric equipment of the class 120, due to the continuous load of 5. 6 Mw, imposed high requirements on the design of various components of the main circuit. A description is given of the design of these components such as transformers, four-quadrant controller and inverter. The electronic control of the locomotive is explained.
