AUTOMATIC AGENTS
The automatic fare collection system of Illinois Central Gulf for its Chicago suburban operation is described. ICG currently has 46 of its 50 stations equipped with AFC, serving 26,000 riders daily and making possible control of one phase of operating costs. System now is equipped to transmit status of individual AFC units, patronage and other data to ICG's computer.
