TERMINAL COMMUNICATIONS -- DESIGNING A LINK TO FIT THE CHAIN

The distribution of information within container terminals is as crucial to efficient operation as the means by which containers are physically moved. Consequently, higher through-puts tend to put more emphasis on the communication system as the ability to transmit/receive precise, accurate data at high speeds becomes more important. As there are many methods available, each possessing characteristic qualities, it is vital that the terminal carefully considers its final selection as the eventual system must match individual operation.
