TRACTION MOTORS -- A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE TYPES IN THEIR RESPECTIVE FIELDS OF USE
Exhaustive appraisal of the traction characteristics of various designs of traction motors working under various supply and control systems is presented. It is shown that three-phase developments provide good performance and maintenance advantages and service experience is actively sought on the power electronics aspect of this technology.
