ONCE AGAIN - PHOTOGRAPHY FROM THE FRONT

UND NOCHMALS: FRONTALFOTOGRAFIE

Photography from the front is an attempt to identify a driver who has committed an offence. Development has progressed from manual operation of the camera, operation by means of a wire, electric cable operation, radio operation, operation via photo-diodes with a radar flashlight and infrared flashlight ml1. Time following the flash has been reduced from 3 seconds to 0.5 seconds. The infrared flash works reliably in darkness and in sunlight. The cost of transmitter, receiver and lens is about 500 dm for the infrared flash. The camera used is a mirror reflex camera with a high-capacity motor, a connection box for remote control and a 250 back. Automatic glare control equipment and polarisation filters can be used to achieve good picture quality. Experience with black and white films and kodak films sensitive to infrared are described.
