NEW RESEARCH ON ALCOHOL AND DRUGS. REPORT ON THE WORK OF OECD GROUP 14
NEUE FORSCHUNG ZU ALKOHOL UND DROGEN. BERICHT UEBER DIE ARBEIT DER OECD-GRUPPE S14
Results are given of the work of the group on the consumption of alcohol and drugs and participation in road traffic. On the basis of the new research results and the fact that between 20 and 50 per cent of fatal road accidents are caused by alcohol, a list of conclusions was drawn up on the problem of alcohol at the wheel. The object is to promote further investigation on the involvement of all types of drugs. The recommended limit for driving aptitude is 0.8 per mille. Most of the recommendations are already realised in the Federal Republic of Germany. (TRRL)
