The new regulation governing the design of reinforced concrete is based on design methods different from those of the ccba 68. The authors conduct a systematic study, according to this new regulation of all possible cases of simple and composite bending. Equations (which are generally of the fourth order) permit to determine the neutral fibre and therefore the steel which will eventually be needed. Tables are provided for calculating the different stresses permissible for concrete and steel together with other tables comparing the results obtained with those reached with CCBA 68 and Bael.
