EPOXY CONCRETE AND A NEW METHOD: THE REPAIR WORK ON NYDALEN BRIDGE, OSLO, IS A PIONEERING WORK

EPOXYBETONG OG NY METODE: REPARASJONEN AV NYDALEN BRU ET PIONERARBEID

The repair work on Nydalen Bridge in Oslo, Norway, represents a pioneering effort in the repair of damaged concrete bridge decks. The repair was performed with epoxy concrete, a material which was relatively new at the time when the repair work was done in 1968 and 1969. Furthermore, a repair method was employed which had never before been used on such a large scale. Observations during a five year period show that the result has been successful, and this project has become a basis for further development of the method and the material employed. (TRRL)
