COMMENT ON THE HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS OF INJECTION GROUTS

This article outlines the problems concerning the rheological characteristics of injection grouts (cement, bentonite) and a method of studying these problems. Laboratory test results are presented. The tests were carried out with a view to getting a better knowledge of the hydraulic characteristics of grout when it moves in tubes or through slits, by recording flow parameters. New shapes were obtained for non-steady state flow curves for grouts differing in density, as a function of pressure gradients using tubes and slits of various dimensions. Correlations were found and checked between the hydraulic characteristics of flows in tubes and through slits. A qualitative study of flow is conducted. Details are given of some rheological characteristics.
