DESIGN CHART FOR VIBRO, DEVELOPMENTS IN THE BIBROCOMPACTION OF COHESIONLESS SOILS

Research has been carried out by cementation piling and foundations into the selection of design parameters influencing vibro-compaction of cohesionless soils. As a result of this work a design chart of radius of compaction as a function of minimum dynamic shear strength is presented. The chart is based on tests of soil samples taken from Middle East contracts. In conjunction with this work, another research project investigated the behaviour of soil in the fluidised zone. The main aim of the research project was to investigate means of identifying soil of high fluidisation potential. (TRRL)
