30,000 T STORAGE SILO -- A LESS CONVENTIONAL DESIGN APPROACH
Planning, design, settlement pattern framing and construction details of a fertilizer storage silo projected in Calcutta, India port are discussed. Rock phosphate, urea, NPK, ammonium sulphate, ammonium phosphate and other similar imported materials requiring covered storage will be stored in this silo during transit. The 30,000 t capacity fertilizer storage silo is an involved hyperstatic structure designed not to be influenced by the induced settlement at the foundation positions.
