BRIDGE SEGMENTS PRECAST ON LONG-LINE BED
The paper shows that a long-line casting bed is the successful key to the haunched concrete box girder bridge constructed of precast segments. In addition to serving as a form for the curving bottom of the box, the long-line bed also permits high production and helps hold the match-cast bridge segments to the precise alignment and grade required. The bridges of precast concrete segments were erected by the balanced cantilever method. Each bridge has a 42-ft. deck supported by a 23-ft. wide box girder
