REASONS FOR UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICATIONS OF THE NEW AUSTRIAN TUNNELLING METHOD
The paper cites principles important to the tunneling method and to describing it. Where these principles are observed, the new concept proves a success. It has led to an important increase of safety and economy of tunnel construction. Where, on the other hand the principles, have not been observed, technical and economical failures are the consequences. Several examples of these failures are presented.
